Brief of what direction we are heading

Brief Studio 4

To design a Splint that can be used by the everyday person, after a natural disaster to assist with the immobilization of the arm before seeking further medical care.

Materials that we could use: Plastic, Wood, Cardboard or Paper, Sodium Acetate Chemical Reaction), Magnet.

Area of the Body: Arm specifically the Radius, Ulna, Wrist, Fingers and thumb

Ways it could close: Velcro, Folding, Tabbing, Chemical Reaction, Vacuum, Encased, Inline skate clip method.

The Splint should be well designed to have an easy to use interface for user, it should look structurally safe and trustworthy, Fluid design that explains uses within design. Splint must be Adjustable to be used by various sized people, Structurally able to support broken arm, last for a minimum of 72 hours (could become able to be permanent)

We will need to Research and collect various materials to mock up and test designs.

Research and understand ways that the lower arm is splinted, to support and injury.
